Hi friends and others who have stumbled upon this blog!
With clothes piled around my bedroom, shoes laid out in a grid, pedagogy guide marked up, and a to-do list that seems to get three items longer for each item checked off, I thought it was time to make this blog official with my pre-departure post. (And, yes, it is partially so I can check another thing off my to-do list.) I leave a week from today, thus, welcome to my new blog! For all of you wondering what this journey of a Fulbright Year entails, I’ll tell you what I know: I’ll be teaching in a village at a primaria, akin to elementary school. I may have even younger kids too, time will tell. It’s a bilingual program, which means I could be teaching any subject from PE to social studies, not just English. I’m excited to help develop interdisplinary English skills, rather than the classroom formalities! I’ll also be able to choose a side project- but I’ll find out more about that once I’m in Spain. The rest you — and I — will have to wait to find out about! So wish me luck as I attempt to navigate multiple Spanish cities and find an apartment within three days! Hold tight and check back in once I’m in Europe for more stories and even some photos :) Bye for now!
